Summer Camp 2004
July, 2004 the camp was held at the Presbyterian Church and we had our first visitors from Budapest. Tibor Felszeghy and Ildiko Niklesz are members of the Fabula Puppet Theater, and were here to spend a week with us. The children learned to create puppets and the artists entertained everyone with songs and musical theater performances. All ages participated in the final performance of “Török és a Tehenek” (a tale by Zsigmond Moricz about a Turk and his cows).
The afternoons were spent outdoors in the form of hikes, and filed trips. We visited the Greater Vancouver Zoo, Stanley Park, rode horses and played outdoor games. The age of participants spread from 3 to 14 years creating a challenge to keep everyone entertained, but judging from the constant smiles, we were assured that our first camp was a success. The older children even stayed for a sleepover Friday night!
